19F NMR OF BIOSOLIDS AND AQUEOUS ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTANTS
  • MSc Student (2023 - Present)

  • BSc 2022 (University of British Columbia)

My research interest involves exploring the versatility of NMR spectroscopy and its applications to environmental samples. Typically, NMR is used for structure elucidation and compound confirmation; however, with high sensitivity, NMR is capable to do so much more. My research focuses on the application of 19F NMR on biosolids and aqueous environmental pollutants. Through the use of 19F NMR, I will look and quantify known and unknown per/polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). I seek to discover more organofluorine compounds with NMR where previous analytical techniques may not have been able to detect.
