The Thompson research group is situated in the Department of Chemistry in the St. George Campus of the University of Toronto. The main focus of research activities is in the area of bioanalytical chemistry and facilities consist of both wet chemistry instrument laboratories. The group has graduate student, postdoctoral fellow and research affiliate members and is highly interdisciplinary in character with scientists possessing expertise in microelectronic engineering, engineering physics, biomedical engineering, and synthetic organic chemistry in addition to bioanalytical chemistry. Thompson holds a Associate Member position in the Institute for Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering of the University of Toronto.
