The Log Drivers’ Waltz – a Northern Affair. We had a Canadian theme for our formal this year, much to the dismay of our international students, who were not invited. Actually that’s not true, everyone was there. In fact, the Australians were probably the most Canadian of us all.

You may not know this, but we had considered renting a stuffed moose for the occasion. Somehow that was voted down in one of our weekly ChemClub meetings. Though in retrospect that may have been a mistake, as its absence was sorely felt.

The formal was held at Steam Whistle Brewery and in true Canadian spirit, there was an open bar with lots of beer all around. As proof, take a look at our Flickr page. No need to panic, we were responsibly silly. We had a live band and danced the night away. The food was excellent and the company was great. We’re already looking forward to another excellent formal next year.
