Deep Approach:
A deep approach to learning is the goal of all instructors, emphasizing understanding and making connections (“big picture” thinking) over rote memorization and compartmentalization of knowledge.
Strategic Approach:
A strategic approach can be combined with either a deep or surface one.
Surface Approach:
A surface approach to learning is not the intended goal of instructors!
